Satsumasendai City is located in the northwest of the Satsuma Peninsula, bordered to the south by Kagoshima City and Ichiki-Kushikino City, and to the north by Akune City. The city consists of both the mainland area and the Koshikishima Islands. It features a diverse coastline of white sand and blue pines facing the East China Sea, the majestic Kawauchi River flowing gracefully through the urban area, lush mountains and lakes such as Imuta Pond, and the beautiful varied terrain of the Koshikishima Islands, along with numerous hot springs. The rich and diverse natural environment has been designated as the Kawauchi River Basin Prefectural Natural Park, Imuta Pond Prefectural Natural Park, and Koshikishima Quasi-National Park, and is cherished by the people.
Satsumasendai City Kawauchi Station Convention Center SS Plaza Sendai, like the Kawauchi River that has brought many blessings to people's lives, creates new flows of people and serves as a new hub for citizen activities, providing a venue for diverse gatherings. The convention hall, meeting rooms, exchange salons, and multipurpose kitchen serve as MICE facilities where people gather and engage in activities, which is why the theme for the curtain was set as "Soaring Towards a Bright Future." The design of the curtain depicts the flight of birds, symbolizing the area's diverse habitat for waterfowl. The birds spreading their wings in the sky represent the children who will soar into the future and the future prosperity of Satsumasendai City. The colors are inspired by the blue of the Kawauchi River that flows through the city center, the green of the mountains and rice fields, and the gradation of colors seen at sunset and sunrise, conveying a sense of dynamism towards a bright future. Emphasizing harmony with the hall's interior, the colors are composed to evoke a natural feel. Care was taken to ensure a sense of unity with the wood-patterned floors and walls in the hall, featuring gentle color schemes that blend seamlessly into various scenes such as parties and stage performances.
