Hotel Nikko Osaka is located in the vibrant heart of Shinsaibashi, Osaka, attracting visitors from all over the world. In March 2019, a custom hooked carpet (Tango Carpets) was adopted for the floor of the second-floor lobby, which serves as the hotel's entrance. Okura Nikko Hotels operates hotels in major cities across the country, each with its own unique concept and varying building images and atmospheres. The custom hooked carpet chosen for this location preserves the chic ambiance of the lobby, which is the hotel's "face," while evoking the image of a town square in a European city. The monochromatic linear pattern harmonizes with the soft cream-colored marble, creating a more elegant and calm impression. Considering the high foot traffic and the need for mobility in the lobby, a high-density weave of 5,200 tufts was employed. Hotel staff have expressed their satisfaction, saying, "The walking experience has become incredibly soft."
