At the Osaka Seishin Gakuin Hoshi no Hikari Kindergarten in Matsubara City, Osaka Prefecture, the focus is on fostering autonomy and nurturing children who are rich in creativity. One aspect of their educational system involves expressive activities, including painting, where children are encouraged to express themselves freely while cherishing their individuality. The children’s artworks were submitted to the 39th World Children’s Art Exhibition, where they received numerous individual special awards, including the Special Award from the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, as well as various select and effort awards. Among these, M.T.’s "Halloween Party," which received the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Special Award, was adopted as the Suminoe Art stage curtain in the kindergarten’s hall. The unique brush strokes of watercolor painting and the soft, delicate expressions of ink and washi paper were meticulously captured through a computer interface and woven with care using an electronic jacquard loom, resulting in a vivid reproduction of the artwork. The finished product has garnered great satisfaction from the artist, the parents, and the kindergarten staff.
