Seiryū Sansuika "Ayu no Sato", located in Hitoyoshi City, Kumamoto Prefecture, is one of the historic hot spring inns representing Hitoyoshi Onsen, established in 1941. With the hope of revitalizing the entire region, the hotel celebrated its grand reopening on August 30, one year after the heavy rain disaster in July 2020. In this recovery effort, they reached out to us with the desire to use "SUMINOE carpets". The overall concept is "Wayūwaraku", and the first-floor lobby features an elegant pattern from the Tenpyo period, adorned with a bird holding a flower, known as the "Sakuchōmon", which symbolizes happiness. The lounge carpet showcases various patterns inspired by kimono and obi designs, randomly arranged in a traditional Japanese style.
