Yonabaru Town is located on the southern coast of the main island of Okinawa, 9 km from the prefectural capital Naha City. Yonabaru Town has a long history, and appears in Okinawa's oldest collection of folk songs, Omosausi, under the names ``Yonaharu'' and ``Yonahabama (Yonaha Beach).'' The place name of Yonabaru is said to be the name of what was once a coastal area, and it is said that the place where the ancient Yonabaru people first settled was Kamiyonabaru (southwestern part of the town). “Yonabaru Town Kamimori Kanachi Hall” was opened in April 2021 as a service base for Yonabaru Town residents by integrating it with the new government building. The theme of the stage curtains used for the facility is ``undulation,'' and the motif is ``Yonabaru Ozunahiki,'' a ritual to pray for a good harvest that boasts a history of over 440 years. This stage curtain depicts the beginning of the Yonabaru Otsunahiki. When the east and west ropes are brought together and the male and female kanachi (kanachi sticks) are connected, the various ``thoughts'' of the people are swelled, and the time until the beginning of the ritual is expressed. The design of this stage curtain reflects the desire for people to feel a sense of anticipation, elation, and togetherness before the ritual. The colors are divided into east and west hues, vividly expressing the overall vibrancy of the background.
