Nishijin Tsuzureori Doncho was selected for the large hall of Westa Kawagoe, which was built as part of the redevelopment of the west exit of Kawagoe Station. In the design competition, we put together concepts and motifs and proposed designs based on the request for ``a stage curtain that would be a source of pride for the citizens and befitting a facility that will serve as a center for Kawagoe's arts and culture.'' The title of the stage curtain is ``Harmony -The Sound of Time-'', and it abstractly depicts the warm connections between people in Kawagoe since ancient times and the bustle that arises from them, superimposed on the resounding bells of time that have continued from the past to the present. The overlapping circles represent the infinite expansion of the circle of interaction between people, like the sounds of harmony. In addition, the silver line in the center represents the present day, and the golden background represents the bells of the Edo period, and by changing the number of times they strike each hour, the sound that signals the time is rhythmically expressed. We hope that it will be loved for many years to come as a symbol of Kawagoe, a city where time connects people, which has developed while inheriting history, tradition, and culture.
