Tamana City is a central city located in the northern part of Kumamoto Prefecture, hosting various national and prefectural government offices. On October 3, 2005, it underwent an equal merger with the neighboring towns of Taimai, Yokoshima, and Tensui, forming the new city of Tamana. The Tamana City Civic Center was constructed by the city to serve as a symbolic hub for new urban development in the future. The design of the curtain is themed around the concept of "Hometown of Music," capturing the rhythm of sound expressed geometrically in the building's facade and the bold colors reflecting the sunset over the rich natural landscape of Ariake Bay in Tamana City. The curtain features the distinctive "gold and silver threads" characteristic of brocade weaving, along with decorative threads, creating a simple yet modern finish.
