Renovation work began in 2015, and on September 12, 2019, "The Okura Tokyo" celebrated its grand opening. A wide range of carpets was selected for various areas, including guest rooms, hallways, and restaurants in the "Okura Heritage Wing," as well as the lobby, entrance, and banquet halls in the "Okura Prestige Tower." Notably, the custom hand-tufted carpet featuring a traditional checkered design in the lobby, which carries on the hotel's classic aesthetics, has received high praise from both domestic and international guests.
