Uruma City, Okinawa Prefecture, is the third largest city in Okinawa, located in the central part of the main island of Okinawa. Sumino Air Art curtain curtains were adopted for renovation work at the Henza District Disaster Prevention Center, one of the district disaster prevention centers in Uruma City. What is depicted on the stage curtain is a Maran ship, a traditional ship in Okinawa, which was also called Yanbarusen in various parts of Okinawa. Currently, there are no ships left in actual operation, but they played an important role in maritime transport as trade ships until early modern times. In particular, the Maritime Culture Museum, which has a deep connection with Uruma City, displays a large Maran ship built by shipwright Naoki Goeku, which is an intangible cultural asset of the city, and is useful for learning about and promoting local culture to the general public, and I think it has become a curtain that will be loved by the citizens forever.
