Arima Onsen is one of Japan's three ancient hot springs, celebrated as one of the three famous springs in Japan and listed in "The Pillow Book" as one of the three renowned hot springs. In the Edo period, it was ranked as the highest, "Nishi Ōzeki," in the hot spring rankings. Atop a small hill in the Arima Onsen area stands the Arima Grand Hotel, which features custom carpets in the main lobby and entrance. The custom tufted carpet (Color Tech OMT Custom System) used in the main lobby allows for the flexible control of up to six colors of thread, enabling a delicate expression reminiscent of pointillism found in woven carpets. The design is inspired by motifs such as the kobushi flower and bamboo baskets associated with Arima Onsen, featuring colors that evoke the flow of hot springs. On the other hand, the custom hooked carpet (Tango Danto) used in the entrance has a beautiful design with geometric patterns and concentric circular gradations. To ensure the long-lasting maintenance of the gradient colors and prevent color unevenness due to clouding, the owner requested the use of Petit Freeze yarn.
