SUMINOE Co., Ltd.'s custom-made Wilton carpet was installed in the House of Representatives Chamber (Plenary Session Hall) of the National Diet Building. Following the previous delivery in 1997, Suminoe Interior Products Co., Ltd. received the order this time as well, and produced the carpet with the aim of restoring the existing carpet. The Wilton variety is made from 100% combed wood, and is characterized by its glossy luster and warm, hand-woven appearance. In addition, the pile has a high density and four types of threads are interwoven into it, giving it excellent elasticity and durability. The first time SUMINOE Co., Ltd. delivered a product to the National Diet Building dates back to 1891 (Meiji 24), when the manufacturing technology of SUMINOE Co., Ltd.'s original Murata Factory was highly praised and the company delivered dantsu to the Imperial Diet Building, the predecessor of the National Diet Building. Later, we received orders for interior textiles for the current National Diet Building, which was completed in 1936, and we continue to deliver carpets for hallways and upholstery for chairs.
